About Me

I am a 35-year-old content creator. I have worked for four years with The Ohio State University's College of Arts and Sciences creating articles and announcements about our stellar students and alumni. I also operate and maintain a parenting blog at nobodysready.com, where I write about parenthood and offer a safe space for parents to seek advice.

In my spare time, I write fiction, and am currently working on a middle grade novel that I plan to pitch in Autumn 2022.

Mayo Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program boosts representation in field of design

Joseph Wisne (BA, Psychology, ’86) and Bridgette Mariea (BA, English, ’89) believe deeply in the importance of representation across the field of design.

“Design is often misunderstood to be a narrower discipline than it is,” Wisne said. “There’s enormous space to accommodate the full spectrum of human perspectives, backgrounds and skills.”

To capitalize on this opportunity, Wisne and Mariea are funding the Mayo Peer-to-Peer Mentoring Program in the Department of Design. Local founders of the

Browning Internship Fund supports internships for political science students

As a student in the turbulent political climate of the early 1970s, political science alumnus Jim Carroll ’73 remembers his education at Ohio State as a time of growth that was made easier through the help of others.

“I remember when I was a student, money was something that was very scarce,” he said. “However in the ’70s, it wasn’t as painful as it is nowadays.”

When Carroll first heard about an opportunity to help students fund their internships, he saw it as a chance to give back.

“My mom was so happy about it,” he said. “She was a little on the verge about me going to Ohio State in general. [The scholarship] really just kind of affirmed that Ohio State’s really where I should be.”

The past year has been one of struggle, grief, pain and frustration for many in the United States and across the Buckeye community. The pandemic created uncertainty as we isolated from each other and wondered when the world would return to normal. Amid this uncertainty, the question of race relations, equity and diversity came into the forefront of the national dialogue as we collectively witnes

Driven to success

When he was in junior high school, Erwin Raphael ’89 received a package containing a scarlet and gray jersey from his aunt, who was then a student at Ohio State. Students were required to wear a uniform to school, and the administration rewarded them for donating to their senior class fund by granting them a casual dress day — so Raphael wore his new Archie Griffin jersey to school for his reward, never expecting to catch Buckeye fever.

“I had no idea how popular I would become,” he laughs. “I
